Security and Module Management

Module Security lets admins assign role-based access to modules and features.

Navigation Management lets admins control where existing modules and features appear in the application menu.

Where to Find It

Go to Admin > Module Security.
Use the Security and Navigation views at the top of the page.

Security View

Use the Security view to control what each role can do in each module or feature.

NONE No access is assigned.
READ Allows the role to view the module or feature.
WRITE Allows the role to create or update records where supported.
DELETE Allows the role to delete records where supported.
FULL Applies full access for the available permission set.
CUSTOM Indicates the role has a mixed permission setup.

How to Assign Security

  1. Open Module Security.
  2. Select the Security view.
  3. Find the module or feature in the tree grid.
  4. Find the role column you want to update.
  5. Click the permission button and choose the desired access level.
  6. Use the arrow/dropdown option for more specific permission choices.
  7. Confirm the permission state updates in the grid.

Security Notes

Some permission choices may automatically keep required related permissions in sync.
For example, higher access levels may require read access to remain enabled.

Navigation View

Use the Navigation view to control how existing modules and features appear in the application menu.

Active Shows or hides the item in navigation.
Descriptors Shows or hides the item in descriptors.
Placement Controls where the item appears, such as sidebar, top, or internal navigation.
Icon Lets you select the icon used for the item.

How to Manage Navigation

  1. Open Module Security.
  2. Select the Navigation view.
  3. Select a module or feature in the grid.
  4. Use the miniature preview to see where the item appears.
  5. Update Active, Descriptors, Placement, or Icon as needed.
  6. Review the change count on the Save button.
  7. Click Save to apply all staged navigation changes.

Important

Navigation settings only control display. They do not grant access to modules or features.
Users still need the correct role permissions from the Security view to access each area.
