Descriptors and their connection to contacts, entities and relationships

You can manage descriptors in the Settings > Descriptors section. They are essential to configure for contacts, entities, and relationships, and they can influence the risk and compliance level of one.

Descriptors and Contacts, Relationships and Entities
  • Descriptors are important information for an individual contact, entity or relationship (the following text specifies “contact” but the concept applies to entities and relationships as well). By opening one you can see the types of descriptors needed for that type of contact.
  1. Open one contact
  2. In General go to Descriptors
  3. Click on some to add/edit
  4. Click on Save
Risk related

If in Settings > Descriptors the risk associated option for a descriptor is set to “Yes” it will be indicated here with a corresponding sign. Subsequently, if you navigate to the Risk section of the contact, the risk level of that contact will be computed based on the descriptors and their weights. For entities and relationships, additional factors contribute to the calculation of their risk levels.

Compliance related

If in Settings > Descriptors the compliance associated option for a descriptor is set to “Yes” it will be indicated here with an accompanying sign. Subsequently, if you navigate to the Compliance details section of the contact, you can observe how the compliance level calculation is done. For instance, if all descriptors are added, this portion will be at 100%, but if not, it will decrease accordingly. This dynamic affects the contact’s compliance level, influencing its fluctuations along with other contributing factors.
