How do I associate Relationships with Entities?

Summary

Entities and Relationships can be linked to show ownership structures, control, and how entities are connected. You can connect an Entity to an existing Relationship, or create a new Entity directly from a Relationship. Once connected, these links appear in the connection map, giving you a clear diagram of ownership structures, branches, and associations. This makes it easier to maintain accurate records and visualize its structures.

How to use it

Option 1: From an Entity

  1. Go to Entities in the left menu and select an Entity.
  2. Click the tools icon and choose Edit.
  3. In the pop-up, select an existing Relationship to connect to that Entity.

Option 2: From a Relationship

  1. Go to Relationships in the left menu and select a Relationship.
  2. Open either the General tab or the Connections tab.
  3. Click Connections, then select Add Entity to create and link a new Entity to the Relationship.

Where to use it

  • To map branches or layered holdings in a single diagram.
  • To centralize risk and compliance insights for the connected Entities.
  • To show how parent entities, subsidiaries, or affiliates are connected.

Tips

  • Add entity details (fund source, type, structure, strategy) when creating Entities
  • The connection map is interactive — zoom in or zoom out map to quickly understand complex connections and ownerships.
  • If shares are assigned to Contacts, link them alongside Entities. This way, you’ll see both who is connected and who owns what in a single view.
